1. Why is there an interaction with the SATC staff during intake/ admission?

The SATC staff/ therapist will meet the family unit (i.e. caregivers and child using AAC) for up to an hour. During the one on one interaction the staff / therapist will complete the intake information and interact with the caregivers and child using AAC to understand and thereafter communicate about the training program, and also give more details of the same. Questions about the program can be answered and more details of the module will be shared. This also provides a good time for the staff to get to know your child, and understand the child’s comfort with using his/ her AAC system.

2. Will the training be online or in person?

AAC for caregivers will run as an online training program, with the last session being an in-person interaction session.
